Through paid bookings, public-stage opportunities, and reinvestment into training, the program helps build a stronger and more sustainable professional wrestling ecosystem in British Columbia.

Kits League — Our First Series
Where the program began.
Kits League is the first live-event series supported by the BC Pro Wrestling Fund. The series is produced in partnership with BOOM! Pro Wrestling, which provides event production experience, promotional infrastructure, and access to an established audience.
The Fund's role is to expand paid performer opportunities, support training and development, and reinvest live-event activity into the growth of British Columbia's professional wrestling community. Kits League is the first expression of that work — the program is built to grow into new series, new venues, and new communities across the province.
What the Program Has Made Possible

Through Kits League, the Fund has already supported 144 paid wrestler bookings, introduced an estimated 1,500 first-time fans to live professional wrestling, and set aside $3,000 for training seminars. These numbers represent more than event activity: they reflect paid work for performers, new audiences for an underrepresented performance form, and direct reinvestment into the skills and safety of the local wrestling community.

Governance & Program Independence
The Fund sets the direction.
The BC Pro Wrestling Fund sets the goals, eligibility priorities, reinvestment decisions, and community-benefit outcomes of its programs. Production partners may assist with event delivery, but the Fund's purpose is to create paid opportunities, expand public access, and reinvest in the development and safety of British Columbia's professional wrestling community.

Creating paid performance opportunities
Live events give wrestlers something that training alone cannot: meaningful public-stage experience performing in front of a real audience.
The 144 paid bookings across the nine Kits League shows covered by our impact report created paid performance work for local, regional, national, and international performers — while giving developing wrestlers valuable time in the ring.
For emerging performers, every match is an opportunity to refine their craft, develop their stage presence, and learn how to respond to the energy of a live audience. Regular events create more paid opportunities to gain that experience and continue growing as performers.

Growing performer compensation
Kits League has already created paid bookings for wrestlers. As the Live Events program grows, the Fund's goal is not only to create more opportunities, but to strengthen the compensation attached to them — helping performers receive fairer pay for the training, travel, preparation, physical risk, and public performance their work requires.

Strengthening the local performance community
Kits League has welcomed performers from across British Columbia and beyond, including visiting artists from Alberta, Oregon, Arizona, and Australia.
Bringing together performers from different places and backgrounds makes each event richer for the audience. It also gives BC performers opportunities to share the stage, exchange knowledge, and build professional relationships beyond their usual circles.
Those connections help raise the standard of the entire local performance community — a key part of building a sustainable wrestling ecosystem in the province.

Expanding public access to live performance
Kits League is also about making professional wrestling accessible as a live performance form — including for people who may never have attended a live event before.
By keeping events affordable, family-friendly, and held in accessible neighbourhood venues, the program lowers the barriers that often keep new audiences away from live performance.
Many arrived without knowing what to expect. They left having experienced the energy, humour, and craft that make live wrestling special — often returning with friends and becoming part of the community themselves.

Reinvesting in skills, safety, and development
The impact of live events extends beyond the performances themselves. Following a successful series of shows, the BC Pro Wrestling Fund began setting resources aside for performer development and needs-based emergency assistance — including $3,000 designated for training seminars for BC professional wrestlers.
That reinvestment strengthens the pathway from training to public performance, and is an important step toward ensuring that the success of live events creates longer-term benefits for the people who make those events possible.
Why This Program Matters
Cultural opportunity shouldn't depend on who can foot the bill.
Live professional wrestling creates meaningful cultural, artistic, and economic opportunities, but the costs of venue rental, insurance, production, travel, training, and performer pay make it difficult to build sustainable opportunities without outside support. Funding allows the BC Pro Wrestling Fund to expand access, improve safety and training, and create more paid opportunities for performers across British Columbia.
Future funding would allow the Live Events program to expand into additional BC communities, increase paid performer opportunities, support safer production standards, and create new training and mentorship opportunities connected to live events.
